Abstract

Suwanto, Devany Hilda Putri, Febriyanti, Rizki, & Mahardika, Muladi Putra. 2024. The Formulation and Physical Stability Test of Peel-Off Mask Preparation of Ethanol Extract of Patchouli Leaf (Pogostemon cablin Benth). Peel-off mask is one type of face mask that has the advantage of being easily removed or lifted like an elastic membrane. Patchouli leaf (Pogostemon cablin Benth) contain active compounds such as flavanoids that have antioxidant properties. This research aimed to determine whether patchouli leaf extract can be formulated in a peel-off mask preparation and to determine whether variations in the concentration of patchouli leaf extract can affect the physical stability of the peel-off mask preparation formulation. The method used is a laboratory experiment with patchouli leaf extraction using the maceration method. Formulas were made with variations in extract concentrations of 0,5%, 1% and 2%. Physical characteristics tests including organoleptics, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and stability were carried out by cycling tests at a frezeer temperature of 4°C and an oven of 40°C for 4 cycles (8 days). Statistical analysis using one way Anova. The results showed that ethanol extract of patchouli leaves can be formulated in peel-off mask preparations with variations in extract concentration affecting stability on spreadability. (FI) and (FII) showed qualified physical stability. Keywords : Formula, Peel-Off Mask, Patchouli Leaf, Physical Stability Test
